When you golf it changes everything.

Since 1990, the Comox Valley has come together to raise over $620,000 for local healthcare needs at the annual St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Golf Classic at Crown Isle, for areas of care like Emergency, Cancer Care, Pediatrics, Operating and the Intensive Care Unit. Over the last 26 years this Golf Classic has helped communicate the role the Foundation plays in enhancing healthcare in our community.

Last year alone the Golf Classic raised a record-breaking $52,000 to purchase a vital system for the Operating Room, which will transfer to the new Comox Valley Hospital this fall.

Now under the new name Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation Golf Classic, organizer and title sponsor Robert Mulrooney from Mindset Wealth is planning for the 27th event to be another one for the record books – especially as this will be the last hosted by Mindset Wealth.

“Our goals every year are the same; to show the golf participants a good time out there on the course and to keep them well fed and hydrated, and this year will be no different,” Mulrooney said. “We also want to make sure that all our loyal sponsors are supported and adequately thanked.”

“I am very proud of the work our golf committee has put in for this year’s Golf Classic and just want to make sure that everyone makes note of the time change – registration will open at 10am and shot gun start at 11:00 am this year.”

Always a sellout, this year’s CVHF Golf Classic on June 14th is already making waves with its fun-filled activities, including the Scotia Wealth Management Million Dollar Shootout sponsored by Keil Financial Advisory Group, a chance to win WestJet tickets, breakfast provided by McDonald’s, lunch provided by Boston Pizza, tons of hole activities, prizes and so much more.

Also stirring up some excitement are this year’s Live Auction headliners, like sold out Lady Gaga tickets, a return flight and box seats to Bruno Mars in Vancouver, a Telegraph Cove Getaway package (overnight stay for two, whale watching and a Maximick Originals reproduction on canvas), Dine Around Town for a Year featuring 12 local restaurants, a WestJet Travel Package with Packables Travel Solutions, an exclusive experience with 40 Knots Vineyard and Estate Winery, a custom suit by Walker 24 and Wall of Wine from Ana Fleck of Invis Mortgage.

“We’re getting really excited about this year’s Golf Classic,” said Katie Maximick, Communications & Fund Development for Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation. “There just seems to be more buzz around the event this year, from golfers and sponsors, to auction donors and volunteers. It’s a big year for healthcare with the opening of the new hospital this fall, so it’s great to see so many people excited about it and willing to help out with our golf event.”

“We want to thank all of the sponsors, golfers and auction item donors for supporting this event year after year. They’re the reason the Golf Classic is such a success and a vital part of our Foundation’s fundraising efforts, and why it’s one of the summer’s most anticipated golf events.”
