WestJet is proud of the social investment they make in the communities they serve. Their culture of caring extends beyond aircraft and airports and into the community at large. They believe in the importance of healthy communities and support healthcare initiatives through their WestJet Cares for Kids Program.
St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation is excited to announce that WestJet has partnered with us on a community campaign to build awareness and create sustainability for our Hospital.
For those new to the work of the Foundation, perhaps we may inspire you to join us on our journey. Whether you have retired to the Comox Valley for your golden years, or have a job in Alberta and call the Valley home, if you are raising a young family, or planning for retirement, I ask you to imagine one single day in the beautiful Comox Valley without your good health. All the natural beauty, arts and cultural activities, recreational opportunities, the sights and sounds of the Comox Valley can so quickly disappear with illness, injury, accident or disease.
Private donations allow priority medical equipment to be replaced faster than if government funding alone was relied on. The reality is that increased needs for updated medical equipment make it impossible for government to replace equipment as promptly as needed. A monetary contribution to the Foundation will help us to be able to purchase more equipment and enhance services at our Hospital, benefiting the many residents of the Comox Valley and surrounding area.
Monthly donations are a convenient way to spread your donation over the entire year. It lets you budget your generosity – and you receive a single, cumulative tax receipt at year end. You may choose to have funds withdrawn regularly from your bank account or from your credit card. It’s easy, and you may update or cancel the arrangement at any time.
Your support could be something as simple as a $10.00 perpetual monthly donation. This donation can provide St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation with a more sustainable funding source, and you with a charitable tax receipt and confidence in local healthcare for you, your family and friends.
The Staff Lotto program is a wonderful example of how a group can come together to support their organization. Last year it generated over $27,000 in revenue and additional employee donations have resulted in thousands more for staff education and purchases which have helped to enhance patient care. We are ecstatic at these results as it shows the community that our staff truly stand behind our Hospital and encourages increased community support for the Foundation.
