On Friday, July 24, Comox Valley MLA, Don McRae, on behalf of Health Minister, Hon. Terry Lake, together with partner representatives of Island Health, St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Comox Valley Hospice Society and St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation officially unveiled the Hospice at The Views. We were privileged to have so many generous community donors and supporters of this residential hospice service in attendance for the opening, which was followed by previews of this exciting new space.
The new four-bed residential hospice service provides a warm and welcoming environment, where individuals nearing end of life and families dealing with grief at the loss of a loved one can receive the needed care and support of a professional and dedicated staff during this tender time. Each room has ocean and/or garden views and is characterized by peace, dignity and privacy. The Hospice at The Views welcomes its first patients on Monday, July 27.
