RBC Foundation purchased a 2nd Low Acuity Infant Incubator for the Newborn Inpatient Unit at the new Comox Valley Hospital
This year on March 19th, RBC presented a cheque in the amount of $25,000 to Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation to support the purchase of a second Low Acuity Infant Incubator for the Newborn Inpatient Unit at the new Comox Valley Hospital.
These specialty incubators are innovative technology that increase safety and comfort, and reduce stress, health risks and the margin of error for the tiniest and youngest patients in a hospital. On average, 500 to 600 babies are born in the Comox Valley each year. For those newborns who might need a little extra care, these incubators will be there to stabilize and comfort them and their families.
“The opportunity to work closely with the Health Care Foundation has been a privilege” said Colleen Sawyer – RBC Royal Bank Manager.” This opportunity allowed us to get to know the unique healthcare needs of our community and how we can provide support to enhance the level of care.”
Since the RBC Foundation proudly supports children and youth across Canada, we feel that providing funding for the low acuity infant incubator for our new state-of-the-art hospital would be a good fit for our organization, as it helps ensure our communities youngest citizens start life off as safely as possible as they are our future.
RBC Foundation and RBC Royal Bank Comox Valley have donated over $500,000 over the years and have enhanced the level of healthcare in our community for 1000’s of individual’s families, friends and loved ones.
This ongoing partnership with CVHF will be recognized on the Foundation’s new Donor Wall which is located in the lobby of the Hospital.
“We are so thankful for RBC’s continuing commitment and support of local healthcare needs,” said Lynn Dashkewytch, Executive Director at CVHF. “RBC have been a great community partner for many years, supporting the purchase of new medical equipment through grants as well as raising funds through their title sponsorship of the annual golf event from 1992 to 2012. “ On behalf of our Foundation Board we wish to thank Colleen for her exceptional leadership and support and wish to extend our congratulations to her as she starts her retirement later this month. We look forward to many more years working with the RBC team under the new leadership of Tyler Robinson – RBC Royal Bank Courtenay Manager.
