Comox Valley Better at Home supports seniors in our community by providing several non-medical services to help seniors continue to live in their own homes. In 2018 the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation provided a grant to assist Better at Home in setting up a new Seniors’ Transportation Program. There are many seniors in our community who are isolated and have great difficulty getting to appointments or grocery shopping.

Now, with a small team of trained volunteers, Better at Home has launched a program that provides free transportation to eligible seniors, helping them attend appointments or grocery shop (at no extra cost). With the support of the CV Healthcare Foundation (assisting in covering volunteer training and gas expenses) the Better at Home transportation program is providing local seniors with greater independence while contributing to increased overall health and well-being.
