Staff members from the Laboratory Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrate their Caring Spirit Award for delivering excellent patient care.
The Laboratory Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital has been given a Caring Spirit Award for providing exceptional patient care.
A long-time patient wanted to recognize the entire Lab Department after receiving excellent care and services for over a decade, so she made a generous donation to the Hospital via the Caring Spirit program, and gave the Lab a beautiful thank-you card with a personal note about the care she received.
The Lab was very touched by the recognition.
“I have always known that we have a great group of people in the Laboratory, however the Caring Spirit recognition reaffirms the outstanding work being done by each and every member of our team,” said Jeannette Behan, Laboratory Manager at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
“It’s great to get this kind of feedback from patients and have this acknowledgment shared with the rest of the healthcare teams.”
The Laboratory Department consists of Lab Assistants, Technologists and Pathologists who provide diagnostic testing on specialized instruments to support physicians to diagnose, monitor and treat patient conditions. The Lab is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure care for the patients in our community.
“Every member of the lab team works very hard to deliver outstanding care to our clients in the Comox Valley. It’s our goal to provide the best patient care possible, but when it is recognized by a patient, it means that we are making a difference in someone’s life when they are going through a difficult time.”
“I am absolutely thrilled that one of our long-standing clients took the time to let my staff know what a fantastic job they are doing.”
