Plan A Legacy Gift
Your legacy can stretch the boundaries of what is possible in our community.
For years donors have demonstrated their trust in the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation.
They’ve tasked us with ensuring their legacy lives on and can continue to impact the community they love. They trust the Foundation to make a difference in elevating healthcare in the Comox Valley. We honour that confidence through every legacy donation we receive.
A legacy gift is a chance to carry on your love for the Comox Valley and its people far into the future and to promote your values in perpetuity.
These planned future gifts benefit generations to come. They can be made through your Will or another type of designation of assets. When you leave a legacy gift to the Foundation, you stretch the boundaries of what is possible for local healthcare.
What is a bequest?
A bequest is the most common type of planned gift. It is a legal statement of your intention to give declared in your Will that can help express your wishes and interests. A bequest can be a specific sum of money, a particular asset (i.e. real estate, shares or investments) or a percentage of your estate.
Unlike a gift given now, a planned gift has the advantage of not affecting your current financial resources. Gifts in a Will can reduce the final taxes payable by your estate.
Setting up a gift in your Will is a straightforward process. You can specify an area of healthcare that is important to you or direct your gift to the area of greatest need. Your legal professional can provide advice specific to your estate. We would be pleased to provide further information about making a legacy gift to the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation.
