Ways to Give
Donate Online
Donating online is easy, fast and safe, and you can decide where your donation goes or whether or not you are leaving your gift in memory of a loved one.
Monthly Giving
By joining our special monthly giving club and becoming a Comox Valley Healthcare Hero, you can make an ongoing impact on patients and residents in the Comox Valley each and every day. Simply tell us the amount you would like to donate each month, and we’ll do the rest. Your donations are automatically withdrawn from your bank account or charged to your credit card each month.
Grateful Patient
The Grateful Patient Program provides patients and their families with an opportunity to show gratitude to those who played a special role in the care they received at the Comox Valley campus of the North Island Hospital, in long-term care or in the community. Gifts received through this program will not only recognize the special caregiver or care team, but also help to support the purchase of new medical equipment and patient comfort initiatives that benefit thousands of local patients and their families. Whether you choose to recognize a special doctor, nurse, an entire department or a clinical program that has impacted your health, your donation is a meaningful way to express your thanks.
Gifts In Honour
Making a gift in honour, also known as a tribute gift, is a wonderful way to celebrate life, events, and appreciation. A tribute gift to the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation will help support the delivery of outstanding healthcare. Give in memory of a loved one or in honour of a friend, family member, healthcare worker or special occasion. You can also give in lieu of flowers, wedding gifts and birthday gifts.
Employee Giving
Over 7,500 Island Health staff members participate in the Staff Payday Lotto every pay period by deducting $5 from their bi-weekly paycheque. Since 1991, the Payday Lotto has raised over $10 million dollars and directly funds equipment for our Island hospitals, including here, at the North Island Hospital in the Comox Valley. This program continues to grow, as does the urgent need of our hospitals here on Vancouver Island.
Will & Estate Giving
With continued support from the community, Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation can ensure that the best healthcare is available for your family, friends and loved ones from first breath to end-of-life care. A planned gift plays an important role in ensuring future generations will continue to receive exceptional care for years to come. When you include a gift to Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation in your estate, you are making an investment in the future of our community.
Gift of Securities
Increasingly, our donors are choosing to give securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds) instead of cash. When you gift securities directly to the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation, they are not subject to capital gains, and you receive a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of the donation.
Community Fundraising
Whether you are leading a community-led fundraiser or participating in one, you are making a positive difference in elevating healthcare in the Comox Valley. A community-led fundraiser is an event, project or sale organized by an individual, business, group or organization with full or partial proceeds going to the Foundation. Often these activities bring people together to collectively support healthcare and offer participants unique ways to contribute. Examples include personal endurance events, races, bake sales, car washes, and concerts. Please be in touch if you’re interested in leading a community fundraiser.
Raffles
Buying raffle tickets is a fun, easy way to contribute to local healthcare. Raffles presented by the Foundation are registered with BC Gaming and adhere to the licensed charitable gaming rules.
