During the month of May, Thrifty Foods' 40th Birthday fundraising efforts will benefit 12 local Hospital Foundations, and funds raised at both Thrifty Foods in Courtenay will go directly to Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation to support Areas of Greatest Need at the Comox Valley Hospital.Here's how you can help:

• Purchase an 8lb box of Bergen Farms frozen Mixed Berry Blend, and we will donate $3 from the sale of every one.
• Donate your 3¢ reusable bag rebate at the checkout.
• Ask your cashier to add a donation of any amount to your grocery order.
